Terms of Service

1. The service

TarantulaHub provides husbandry tracking tools, a marketplace for tarantulas and related goods, and community features. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Memberships

Paid tiers are billed monthly via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel anytime; the plan remains active until the end of the paid period. Fee tiers carry the platform fee shown at signup (8-10% of marketplace order totals). We may change pricing with 30 days' notice; existing terms run to the end of the paid period.

3. Marketplace - general

TarantulaHub is a platform connecting buyers and vendors. Buyers pay TarantulaHub; we hold funds in escrow, deduct the platform fee, and pay vendors after delivery is confirmed and the escrow window closes. We are not the seller of vendor goods.

4. Vendors

• Vendors must be approved, keep listings accurate, and ship only healthy, correctly-represented animals in appropriate packaging.
• Live animals may only be listed where legal to sell and ship. You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws (including CITES and animal welfare law).
• Shipping uses tracked courier services; labels must state a live animal is contained.
• Vendors fulfil orders within a reasonable time and update order status promptly.

5. Buyers

• Unpaid orders are cancelled automatically 24 hours after placement.
• Buyers confirm delivery and report problems promptly; disputes may be raised per order item.
• Refunds: when a paid order is cancelled or a dispute is resolved in the buyer's favour, the amount paid (item + shipping) is refunded via Stripe, typically appearing on statements within 5-10 working days.

6. Disputes

Disputes are reviewed by TarantulaHub. Outcomes may include release of funds to the vendor or a refund to the buyer. Our decision on platform-level disputes is final.

7. Acceptable use

No illegal content, animal abuse, harassment, false listings, off-platform payment solicitation, scraping or automated access without permission. Breach may result in suspension or removal.

8. Liability

The service is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect losses. Our total liability is limited to the greater of amounts you paid us in the preceding 12 months or £100. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

9. Cancellation & termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts for breach of these terms or non-payment. Marketplace records needed for tax/dispute purposes are retained.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
